A large -scale demolition program for five -story buildings of the so -called unreasonable series was declared by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin at a meeting with Vladimir Putin. The city hall plans to demolish eight thousand houses that were previously considered to be subject to repair. The program can affect 1.6 million people.
The first demolition program of Khrushchevs was launched in the late 90s of the last century. From the moment of its beginning in Moscow, more than one and a half thousand were not subject to repair five -story buildings. The remaining eight thousand, which are planned to be demolished now, were attributed to the so -called "unbearable" series.
