The Bashkir head of the FSB announced that seven members of the "conspiratorial" local cell "Hizb Ut-Tahrir", including its leader, were detained in Ufa. This was reported by the GTRK "Bashkortostan".
All defendants were charged under part 2 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code (participation in the activities of a terrorist organization), which provides for 10 to 20 years of the colony. This suggests that the detentions have passed some time ago. Whether the courts took place to send the detainees in jail, it is not clear from the message.
According to the plot of the case, the cell solved "the tasks of involving the inhabitants of the republic in terrorist activities, the spread of the militant Islamic propaganda, and introducing a split into the Muslim community of Bashkortostan." The main goal of the FSB calls the "elimination of non -Sislam" and the formation of the Islamic caliphate, including the territory of Bashkiria.
During the searches, prohibited literature, electronic information media and computer equipment were seized from the defendants.
Earlier in Bashkiria, a whole series of cases of Hizb Ut-Tahrir was already fabricated. So, in April 2015, four Ufa residents received in a similar case from 6 to 7 years of strict regime . In June of the same year, the eight residents of Dyurtyuli and the Dyurtyuli district gave time from 5 and a half to 10 and a half years of strict or general regime. In May 2016, five residents of Sterlitamak were sentenced to terms of 5 to 6 years of general regime . It is also known about other cases of Hizb Ut-Tahrir in the region .
