Moscow region journalist Trofimov was brought in for questioning before the speech of the head of the Sergiev Posad region

In the Moscow region, journalist Andrei Trofimov, who was planning to come to a speech by the head of the Sergiev Posad region, Mikhail Tokarev, was brought in for questioning by the Investigative Committee.

“I’m sitting with the investigator of the Investigative Committee, waiting for the end of the speech of the head of the district in the cultural center. As soon as he leaves the stage, they promise to let me out,” the journalist wrote on Twitter.

Before that, he said, the police came to his apartment two hours before the start of the performance.

“The senior detective officer for especially important cases of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Moscow Region, Lieutenant Colonel Dmitry Strelets, whom my lawyer later recognized, said through the door that he wanted to give me a subpoena for questioning in the case of the fascist Cossacks. I didn’t open the door, offering to put the summons in the mailbox, but the police just got into the car and waited for me to leave the house. My lawyer Dmitry Kolobov approached them, but they refused to give him a subpoena,” the journalist wrote in Andrei Trofimov’s Alternative Newspaper.

Earlier on VKontakte, Trofimov invited local residents to “come and ask him [Tokarev] about what’s bothering you. About roads, crossings, the pedestrian zone and the district.”

In September 2016, Trofimov’s place was searched, and in October, after interrogation, he was made to sign a non-disclosure agreement regarding the investigation in the case in which he was a witness.
