"Ren-TV": the head of the Investigative Committee's department for Kuzbass was suspected of obstructing the investigation of a weapons trafficking case

The acting head of the investigative department of the Investigative Committee for the Kemerovo Region has become a suspect of abuse of power, told Ren-TV. a law enforcement source

According to the TV channel, Mullin ordered “to stop operational actions at a weapons warehouse, which was covered by operatives of the department for combating extremism of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Kemerovo Region.”

A criminal case was initiated under Article 286 of the Criminal Code (abuse of official powers." According to Ren-TV, the case was opened on February 22, but no formal charges were brought against Mullin.

Pavel Mullin was appointed acting director of the Investigative Committee on November 16, 2016, after his predecessor in this post, Sergei Kalinkin, was arrested on suspicion of extortion of securities worth 1 billion rubles.

Together with Kalinkin, the defendants in the case were two of his subordinates, two vice-governors, the head of the Department of Administrative Bodies of the Administration of the Kemerovo Region Elena Troitskaya, the founder of PTK Ugol Alexander Shchukin and his confidant Gennady Vernigor.
