A journalist was detained in the Moscow region on his way to a meeting with the head of the district.

In Sergiev Posad, police detained Andrey Trofimov, editor-in-chief of Alternativnaya Gazeta, at the moment when he was on his way to a reporting speech by the head of the Sergiev-Posad district, Mikhail Tokarev. This was reported on the website of the Open Russia movement.

The reason for the detention, according to the police, was that Trofimov did not appear on the summons for interrogation. The journalist is a witness in the case of the procession of the Cossacks, who wanted "the liberation of Russia from satanic evil" and threw up their hands in a Nazi salute - Trofimov filmed this procession on a video camera.

According to the journalist himself, the detention is due precisely to the fact that he wanted to attend a meeting with Tokarev:
