The new head of the administration of ZATO Seversk will be chosen from three candidates. This decision was made today, March 1, at a meeting of the competition commission. Voting will take place tomorrow, March 2, at a meeting of the Duma.

The need to elect a new head of administration is due to the fact that Nikolai Didenko’s powers expire in early April. The head of the ZATO administration is a city manager, who is appointed to this position under a contract concluded with the mayor.
On March 1, a meeting of the competition commission for the election of the head of the closed city was held in Seversk. The commission decided to allow three people to vote. The candidates for this seat are Andrei Bulanov, a member of the Council of the regional branch of A Just Russia, the current head of the Closed Administrative Unit, Nikolai Didenko, and an administration employee, Vladimir Rodygin.
The current head of the ZATO, Nikolai Didenko, moved to work for the Seversk administration from the Novosibirsk mayor's office in 2012. He began acting as head after the resignation of the previous head of administration, Igor Volkov, in February 2013. Then it was said that the competition would be announced in the near future, but with the prefix acting. Didenko worked until April 2, 2015. Afterwards he was confirmed in office.
The second candidate is Andrey Bulanov, a member of the board of the regional branch of A Just Russia. It is curious that one of the news items on the website of the regional branch of the party talks about Bulanov’s desire to participate in the elections. “After an active discussion, as well as questions from colleagues to him, members of the Council decided not to support this candidacy,” the message says.
Vladimir Rodygin works at the Seversk mayor's office. He is the deputy head of the Department of Housing and Communal Services, Transport and Communications of the CATU. Let us note that he already applied for the position of mayor of the city in 2010, when Igor Volkov won.
According to the city charter, at least two candidates must be submitted to the vote. The winner will be the one for whom more than half of the deputies vote. Otherwise, a repeat competition will be announced. Deputies will choose the head by secret ballot. A contract will be signed with the new head of administration for the term of office of the City Duma - until 2020.
According to TV2, with a high degree of probability Nikolai Didenko will remain the head of Seversk.
The elected head of administration will be the last to hold this position. In the future, ZATO will be managed by one person, and not two, as now. The new procedure was approved by the regional Duma at the end of 2016.
