On March 11, the Vadim Sidur Museum in Moscow will open the exhibition “After Sidur”, which is prepared by Moscow artists Dima Goryachkin and Dasha Delone (Give Dazy).
They consider the exhibition dedicated to the classics of domestic sculpture of the twentieth century as “an attempt to again outline the circle of fundamental problems of the author’s work: the place and role of the artist in the world and culture, his relationship with society, power and history”.
"We will give":
“Vadim Sidur was not only an outstanding sculptor, whose work can be put on a par with the sculptures of Henry Moore and Alberto Jacketti. He was one of the first domestic artists who turned to Christian symbolism in the post -war period. More than thirty years have passed since the sculptor’s death, but that, which Sidur devoted his life to the struggle with: dangerous experiments on nature, global political and military conflicts and, finally, the direct violence of people over each other - all this will again determine our agenda today. And we see that his works, imbued with compassion and love for a person, a sense of endless value of life, are today relevant no less than during the life of the author. Today this is something that neither an ordinary cultural person can pass by, nor, moreover, an artist. ”
The exhibition "After Sidur" will last until April 23.
