The Federal Center for the Prevention and Combating of AIDS spread in 2017 may not get drugs, Kommersant found out .

According to the newspaper, since 2017 centralized purchases of antiretroviral drugs are carried out by the Ministry of Health, and there is no center in the list of recipients of these drugs.

The head of the center Vadim Pokrovsky confirmed that there were no institutions on the list, but specified that there were no “official notifications” yet. According to him, in 2016, the Ministry of Health purchased drugs for the center according to the government order, and for 2017, such an order is also “there”.

“In the Ministry of Health, they explained to us that we belong to the structure of Rospotrebnadzor, and in the Regulation on it there is no medical assistance to patients, so they say that they cannot buy. At the moment, we have begun to notify our patients, which, perhaps, we will no longer have drugs, ”Natalya Ladnaya, senior researcher at the Center, told the newspaper.

Ladnaya also noted that Rospotrebnadzor can purchase drugs for the center, but he does not have the means for this. In the Ministry of Health, the center was offered to buy "drugs at their own expense or to help patients pay."

As Kommersant was informed in the Ministry of Health, “there will be no separate purchases for the center, since the necessary documents were not provided in the declared period,” and fears were called “groundless”.

According to the publication, on March 3, the center will check Roszdravnadzor.

It is noted that a thousand people are treated in the center located in Moscow, most of them are patients from distant regions.

In November 2016, the Minister of Health Veronika Skvortsova spoke of the critical level of HIV spread in 10 regions of the country, and in September the number of HIV-infected Russians exceeded a million people.
