The author of the book about the “Roster in the Kremlin” will become a Trump adviser

The post of curator of Russia and Europe in the US National Security Council was offered to the senior scientific employee of the Brukings Institute Fiona Hill. It is reported by Foreign Policy with reference to sources in the White House.

Now formal Hill verification procedures are being held before taking office. The publication writes that the White House is trying to receive the approval of representatives of the congress from both parties, concerned about the contacts of the Trump team with Russia.

Hill, who also has British citizenship, worked in American intelligence. After that, she began to engage in geopolitical research. In 2013, a specialist, together with Clifford, Gaddy published the book Mr. Putin: an operative in the Kremlin. It gave a psychological portrait of the Russian leader, composed of six identities: “statesman”, “lover of history”, “survivor” (was meant the blockade of Leningrad), “outsider”, “marketer” and, directly, “operative”.

As stated in the review of Financial Times, the authors of the book described Putin as the general director of the Russia Corporation, whose environment consists of former St. Petersburg colleagues, oligarchs and “relics of Yeltsin times”. All of them are united by the possibility of “making money”, and Putin’s power is based on incriminating evidence, collected about the environment. Hill and Gaddy's corruption was called the necessary element of the corporation.

Hill criticized the “autocratic” trends in Putin’s board and the desire to “weaken” the United States. In the summer of 2016, the expert called the main instruments of the Russian leader “blackmail and intimidation”.
