IPSI graduates will present an exhibition about the 2000s

On March 6, the State Gallery at the Solyanka in Moscow will open the final exhibition of graduates of the Institute of Contemporary Art of the 2014/16 academic year, dedicated to the 2000s.

An exhibition entitled “Something went wrong” was prepared as part of the study during the Seminar course of Ilya Budraite “Introduction to the theory of history”.

On March 14, the discussion "When did the 2000s end at the exhibition?" with the participation of the curator, editor -in -chief of the “Art Journal” Viktor Misiano, sociologist Grigory Yudin (HSE) and artist, teacher IPSI Stas Shuripa. The host is the curator of the exhibition Ilya Budraitskis.

“Probably, the only denominator of the 2000s is the expressed lack of community, a silent and confident refusal of society from claims to a collective biography. - thinks the curator. -The incomplete 2000s should live alone, and this loneliness begins to be perceived as the main sign of comfort. This exhibition is not just a polyphony of private stories, but a timid attempt to glue, apply them on each other, painstakingly creating a collage of the 2000s. So - to take a small but confident general step to the completion of this strange era. "

The exhibition “Something went wrong” in the State Gallery on Solyanka will last until March 30.
