The Rostov Regional Court dismissed the complaint of the defense of PARNAS party member Igor Oleinik, accused of inciting hatred on the Internet, against the decision of the court of first instance to extend the period of detention. On December 27, 2016, a criminal case was initiated against Oleinik on inciting hatred or enmity on the grounds of nationality using the Internet (part 1 of article 282 of the Criminal Code), and a preventive measure was chosen for the suspect in the form of a written undertaking not to leave the place. On January 20, the preventive measure was changed due to a violation of the rules imposed by a written undertaking not to leave.
