Every fourth dairy product on Russian shelves is poor -quality and contains vegetable fats, last week the Accounts Chamber said with reference to the laboratory tests of the Rosselkhoznadzor. According to the chairman of the board of the International Confederation of Consumer Societies Dmitry Yanin, such dairy products are in demand due to a lower price.
Among the reasons for increasing the demand for cheap products and falling their quality, experts call the ruble devaluation, reduce their own production, as well as a decrease in imports. At the same time, the increase in the amount of falsifier among dairy products is accompanied by an increase in palm oil imports (+25% in 2015 compared to 2014), the Izvestia newspaper writes.
According to the Accounts Chamber, in regions with a high degree of production of falsified products there is also a high trade turnover. The leaders in the dairy falsifier were the Ivanovo, Magadan, Novosibirsk regions and St. Petersburg.
At the same time, prices for milk and dairy products are rising. As of June 1, 2016, the average consumer price for milk amounted to 48.3 rubles/kg, which is 16.9% higher than the price level in the same period in 2015, for butter - 408.6 rubles/kg (12.3% higher), for cheeses, rational and soft cheeses - 432.3 rubles/kg (11.4% higher).
Within the framework of the County Chamber from June 27 to September 27, 2016, a population survey on the topic "Assessing the quality of milk and dairy products in your region" was interviewed by more than two thousand people.
The fifth of the respondents (22%) assessed the quality as unsatisfactory and only 7.6% - as excellent. Most respondents consider the quality of products satisfactory (37%) and good (33%).
Despite the fact that a number of experts insist on the safety of food palm oil for health, nutritionists warn that dairy products with vegetable fat content cannot replace natural ones, they are more high -calorie and can lead to obesity.
Over the past three years, the consumption of dairy products in the country has decreased by 15% while reducing the volume of milk production in personal subsidiary plots. At the same time, the rational consumption standards approved by the Ministry of Health are 325 kg per year per person, recalls the publication.
