Putin pardoned by SMS Oksana Sevastidi

Vladimir Putin pardoned a resident of Sochi Oksana Sevastidi, convicted on charges of Gosizman. The corresponding decree is posted on the official Internet portal of legal information. He will enter into force five days after the publication.

Earlier, the Krasnodar Regional Court sentenced the woman to seven years in prison. The reason was the SMS messages that Sevastidi sent in 2008, shortly before the war with Georgia. She wrote to her friend that she saw a train with military equipment in Sochi, going towards Abkhazia.

“Despite the pardon, we will seek the cancellation of the sentence and justification of Sevastidi, since this sentence itself is illegal, and so it is impossible to leave it,” TASS quoted by the lawyer Sevastidi Yevgeny Smirnov.

For similar SMS about military equipment in 2014, he was sentenced to six years in a general regime colony by the saleswoman from Sochi Ekaterina Kharebava. She was released in June 2016.

In December 2016, another woman, Ing Tutisan, convicted of charges of treason, became known about another woman. The reason also became SMS messages to a Georgian citizen before the events of August 2008. The human rights activists learned about Tutisan due to the fact that Ekaterina Harebava was in the same cell with her.

According to the “team 29”, whose lawyers, in particular, defend the accused in the cases of the Stateizer, for 2013-2016 in the Krasnodar Territory, at least 10 people were convicted of stateisms and espionage.
