Dadin's defense filed a complaint with the ECHR

Ildar Dadin's defense filed a complaint with the European Court of Human Rights about his illegal detention in the colony. RIA Novosti reports this with reference to Dadin’s lawyer Ksenia Kostromina.

“We filed an urgent complaint with the European Court of Human Rights against Dadin’s illegal deprivation of liberty after the decision of the Presidium of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation to acquit him. Now we are preparing a similar complaint to the Zheleznodorozhny Court near Moscow, where we will also raise the issue of Dadin’s illegal detention in the colony from February 22 to 26,” Kostromina said.

Kostromina also noted that her client is going to seek rehabilitation and compensation for illegal criminal prosecution.

The sentence to Ildar Dadin under Article 212.1 of the Criminal Code for repeated violation of the rules of holding a rally was overturned by the Presidium of the Supreme Court on February 22. However, Dadin was released only four days later, since documents from the Supreme Court did not immediately arrive at the correctional colony where he was serving his sentence.
