The head of the Karelian "Memorial" Yuri Dmitriev was a new charge

The head of the Karelian branch of the Memorial Society, Yuri Dmitriev, was charged with a new charge. This was stated by the judge of the Petrozavodsk City Court Oleg Gribchuk at a meeting to extend the arrest of an activist, TASS reports .

As the judge noted, the new edition of the prosecution Dmitriev was brought on March 2. Investigators added Article 135 of the Criminal Code to the former charges of the manufacture of pornography (depravity) and article 222 (illegal acquisition, storage or wearing of weapons). Judge Grabchuk granted the investigator’s request to extend the arrest Dmitriev until April 13. As the court considered, at large the human rights activist can hide from the investigation authorities and put pressure on the minor victim.

On December 13, 60-year-old Dmitriev was detained after a search in his apartment. A computer and a mobile phone were seized from a social activist. The Dmitriev was charged with the item "in" Part 2 of Article 242.2 of the Criminal Code (the use of a face younger than 14 years for the manufacture of pornographic materials). The publicist faces from 8 to 15 years in the colony. According to investigators, Dmitriev took pictures of a naked 11-year-old adopted daughter. On December 15, the Judge of the Petrozavodsk City Court of Karelia Eduard Novoselov arrested a public activist.

As lawyer Viktor Anufriev notes, photographs were intended for guardianship authorities. The physical condition of the adoptive daughter was recorded on them. “It must be borne in mind that he took a child who was launched in physical condition. She developed slowly. Before becoming a foster father, he went through special courses, received a certificate. And there it was recommended that with such children, they should conduct a photo album. That is, to compare how development is going on,” the lawyer said.

These pictures were stored on Dmitriev’s home computer. He did not print them and did not send them anywhere. According to the lawyer, on December 10, the public activist invited the district police officer and talked with him about "empty affairs" within four hours. Returning home, Dmitriev discovered that someone had visited there. On December 12, an anonymous denunciation with printed photographs was received in the investigation department.

According to Anufriev, there is no corpus delicti in Dmitriev’s actions. “Photography in itself by parents, foster parents, no matter what, it does not form a crime,” the lawyer emphasized. “A picture of a child, even a naked, say, pornography are completely different things.”
