
Apple's smartphones continue to occupy a leading position in the US market. This is evidenced by Comscore research , according to which the share of various iPhone models in the American market in the period from November 2016 to January 2017 amounted to 44.6%.
At the same time, according to Phone Arena , Apple managed to strengthen its position, increasing the market share by 2.3% compared to the previous trimester. At the same time, the share of Samsung devices, which takes second place in the ranking, during which time decreased from 30% to 28%.
The third place in the list is occupied by LG smartphones, which account for 10.3% of the US market. In fourth place, Motorola (4.3%) belonging to Huawei, and closes the five HTC with a share of 2.3%.
If we talk about the popularity of mobile operating systems, then the iOS is the same 44.6% of the market, and the Android devices occupy 53.2%. The third and fourth places are occupied by Microsoft and Blackberry systems, which account for 1.6% and 0.6% of the devices.
Note that in terms of the popularity of mobile platforms, the American market is noticeably different from the world, where devices operating on the Android base still dominate. At the same time, Strategy Analytics data for the IV quarter of last year indicate that Apple entered the market leaders, slightly ahead of Samsung in terms of sales. The reason for this could be the failure of the Galaxy Note 7 smartphone.
