Activists and politicians demand to close the Ukrainian Sberbank for the fact that in Russia they began to serve customers with passports "DPR" and "LPR"

The reports that Sberbank in Ukraine is waiting for difficult times appeared in the following sequence: at first - on the Facebook page of the Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov, and a few hours later on the official website of the National Bank of Ukraine.

The blinds with which the employees prudently lifted the windows from the outside were spent with leaflets-figures to the depositors: “Cooperation with the enemy-betrayal!” However, no one physically interfered with the entrance and output of customers. Activists also demanded the resignation and arrest of Valeria Gontareva, the head of the National Bank of Ukraine, including for the protection of “bad” banks, which, in their opinion, became the political instrument of the Kremlin. The action ended without excesses with the police and without any unpleasant consequences for picket objects, including Gontarev itself. On the contrary, in an interview with the Ukrainian edition of New Time, Mrs. Banker reported: in 2016, Russian banks have completed their Ukrainian "daughters" for $ 1 billion. A total of foreign investments in the country received $ 3.8 billion.

But the recent decision of the Russian Sberbank to serve customers in their DNR and LPR passports overdoor the topic again exacerbated the topic. “How long does the National Bank of Ukraine need to impose sanctions on Sberbank of Russia working in Ukraine?” - Minister Avakov asked a question, whose connection with the “azov” observers call the direct. And he gave an answer, actually removing the financial structure outside the law immediately: “Sberbank of Russia must stop working in Ukraine! The National Bank of Ukraine responded with a press release: the regulator initiates the application of sanctions to the “daughter” of Sberbank of Russia in Ukraine-Sberbank PJSC-if information about the readiness of the mother bank to serve the owners of documents of the separatist “republics” will be confirmed. How soon the verification process will be launched is unclear. But it was emphasized that in accordance with the article of the Law of Ukraine “On Sanctions”, prohibitive decisions regarding individual legal entities are made by the National Security and Defense Council, and the sanctions are introduced into effect the corresponding decree of the president.

The National Bank recalled: it is forbidden to provide all types of financial transactions in territories that are not controlled by the Ukrainian authorities. At PJSC Sberbank, the Ukrainian commercial bank, a hundred percent subsidiaries of the Russian Sberbank, the requirements are in full.
