After a series of protest performances in Belarusian cities, Alexander Lukashenko actually refused to implement his crazy decree "On the prevention of social dependency." The Belarusian president did not cancel the decree, but so far agreed not to levy money from the so -called parasites. At the same time, Lukashenko said that the money was not just interested in him. He was interested in the principle, ideology.
Then Lukashenko is cunning. Without a doubt, in his attitude there is nothing out of the number of people out of non -working citizens - Lukashenko as he was a “scoop”, and the “scoop” remained. But while he was all right with the budget, while he could live for Russian handouts, the Belarusian president did not recall about the "parasites". Ideology entered into harmony with reality precisely when the budget began to catastrophically need money. At least some. But the risks associated with obtaining this money were exorbitant even for Lukashenko.
On the streets of Minsk, Gomel, Grodno, Mogilev and Vitebsk, not the usual Belarusian opposition came out - although she, of course, was there too. People who were never particularly interested in politics came out, perceived Lukashenko and his rule for reality, survived as they could - and suddenly found that the Belarusian president and his officials, who were unsubstantially suspected of theft, decided to launch their paw in their fellow citizens - just like that, because they wanted.
Lukashenko’s regime - like many other post -Soviet authoritarian regimes - does not rest on the total support of citizens, but on their total indifference to what is happening in their own country. Lukashenko managed to withdraw society from lethargy - something like this happened to his Ukrainian colleague Viktor Yanukovych in 2013, with the beating of students on the Maidan. In both cases, the ruler managed to affect the most sensitive strings of public perception. People woke up.
Lukashenko himself understands this perfectly. Therefore, he blames the local authorities in the “wrong” execution of the decree, which allegedly compiled lists of the wrong “parasites” - although the document clearly ordered to register those who officially do not work. Therefore, on the 1st channel of Belarusian television, a film was shown about the "horrors" of the Ukrainian Maidan. Therefore, it revolves like a frying pan, trying to not cancel the decree, and not to angry people - an old sad clown!
But the most important question that he cannot give an answer to himself is where to get money if Putin does not give him. There is no answer to this question - because, besides Russian subsidies, Lukashenko never had another source of money. And Lukashenko never knew how to do anything but the exchange of Belarusian kisses for Russian rubles.
After all, the main state secret of Belarus is that Lukashenko himself was a real, “incredible” parasite for all these 23 years.
