The next day, Mendelevich, who headed the school since 1987, resigned .

On September 27, the Investigative Committee opened the case against Meerson under part 4 of Article 135 of the Criminal Code (depraved actions committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy), which provides from 7 to 15 years in the colony. The second person involved was the former student of the 25-year-old Maria Nemzer school. At the time of the opening of the case, she was also in Israel.

It was claimed that from April to December 2010, Meerson and Nemzer, who graduated from school in 2008, "repeatedly committed other sexual actions against the boy, at the time of the crime of the age of 16."
