Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia would lift the ban on Turkish citizens from working in Russia as soon as possible. It is reported by Interfax.
“It will happen as soon as possible. This issue is purely technical,” Putin said at a press conference following talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
This, according to Putin, includes "Turkish construction workers", who, according to him, were forbidden to issue work visas. The decree imposing sanctions against Turkey included a ban on Russian employers from hiring workers from Turkey.
Speaking about the loosening of the visa regime in general, Putin said that the parties "will continue to resolve" this issue, but for this it is necessary to "ensure security in filtering persons who are undesirable in both territories."
