The Investigative Committee resumed the investigation into the attack on human rights activists and journalists in Ingushetia

The Investigative Committee for Ingushetia has resumed an investigation into a criminal case of an attack on human rights activists and journalists on March 9, 2016 on the border with Chechnya. This was reported on the website of the Human Rights Council under the President of the Russian Federation.

“Due to the fact that the perpetrators of the attack were not identified, the investigator suspended the investigation, but the management of the department canceled this decision and now the investigation is ongoing,” the report says.

The leadership of the Investigative Committee for Ingushetia reported at a meeting with members of the HRC that law enforcement officers, as part of the investigation into the attack, interviewed more than 160 witnesses, made a number of examinations and conducted examinations.

Unidentified persons attacked a minibus with journalists and human rights activists on March 9, 2016 near the border of Ingushetia and Chechnya. There were about twenty attackers, they pulled everyone out of the minibus and beat them, and set the car on fire.

On February 15, the Investigative Committee suspended the investigation of the criminal case.
