The Police of the Netherlands stopped the car of the Minister for Family and Social Policy of Turkey Fatma Bethul Saya Kaya at the entrance to the country. It is reported by CNN Turk.
The car was stopped to find out if the minister himself was traveling in it or only its accompanying. Kaya later said that she was in Rotterdam at that time, she was detained 30 meters from the Turkish consulate.
Law enforcement officers asked her to leave the Netherlands "the shortest way, accompanied by the police." At the request of “Talk to her people to talk with her people,” Kaya was refused. At the same time, the Netherlands authorities, as Reuters noted, announced the minister an “undesirable foreigner”.
Earlier, the minister said that he would go to the Netherlands with ground transport, since the Dutch authorities had previously banned the landing of the aircraft of the head of the Turkish Foreign Ministry of Mevlyut Chavushoglu.
Chavushoglu and Kaya planned to visit the Rotterdam on March 11 and take part in the rally in support of amendments to the Turkish constitution. After the authorities of the Netherlands banned the head of the Turkish Foreign Ministry, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called the Netherlands authorities “fascists” and “the remnants of the Nazis”.
The head of the Government of the Netherlands Mark Rutte, in turn, considered Erdogan words "passing all the borders."
