WSJ: CIA programmers were questioned in the case of a leak of documents

The US authorities suspect that the programmers who performed work for the department could stand behind the transfer of the Central Intelligence Directorate (CIA) to the WikiLeaks organization, reports The Wall Street Journal .

The sources of the publication said that some programmers have been questioned, but so far no charges have been brought against them.

According to sources, the reason for the drain of documents could be the discontent of programmers by the fact that the CIA did not continue cooperation with them and did not entrust them with new tasks. According to WSJ, these employees work in companies based in the American state of Virginia. They were engaged in the development of software for the CIA.

On March 7, 8.7 thousand secret documents of the CIA were published on the WikiLeaks website. As stated in WikiLeaks, the YEAR Zero array demonstrates the opportunity to hack smartphones based on iOS, Android and Microsoft Windows, as well as Samsung TVs.

Earlier, US Vice President Michael Pence said that Washington is ready to take all the necessary measures in order to hold those who are worth the scandalous publication. Pence noted that if it is proved that these are really documents of the CIA, then we are talking "about one of the most significant undermining national security recently." At the same time, the Vice President emphasized that the information leak occurred more than a year ago, during the reign of the previous administration.
