Human rights activists detained at checkpoints in Crimea released

Members of the Crimean Human Rights Group Olga Skripnik and Vladimir Chekrygin, as well as an employee of the office of the Ukrainian Commissioner for Human Rights (name not reported), who were detained in Crimea at the Kalanchak checkpoint, have been released. This was reported on Facebook by the head of the Ombudsman's Secretariat, Bogdan Kryklivenko (however, his message says that the Kalanchak checkpoint is under the control of Ukrainian border guards).

The reasons for the detention remained unclear. The human rights activists were detained by the FSB. Earlier publication "Crimea. Realii” broadcast a statement by the Ukrainian border service that human rights activists crossed the border legally. The detainees were under the control of the FSB for at least five hours. According to members of the Crimean Human Rights Group, the FSB interrogated them. Details are not yet known.
