Theater Sats is arranging a week of old opera

The first Russian production of the opera Emilio de Cavalieri “Game of Soul and Body” (1600) will open on March 16 a week of an old opera in the Moscow State Academic Children's Musical Theater named after N.I. CAC.

The performance of the performance will also take place on March 17 , the theater website reports.

“The game about the soul and the body” is the joint work of the artistic director of the theater George Isaacan and one of the most reputable baroque harpists in the world Andrew Lawrence-King , who became the musical leader and conductor of the production. In 2013, the performance received a special jury prize of the Golden Mask National Theater Prize.

On March 18 and 19, Andrew Lawrens King will hold master classes in baroque opera for singers and musicians in the Satz Theater, who play the instruments of the Continuo, Lutne and Baroque Guitars, Baroque harp.

On March 21, on the occasion of the International Day of ancient music, the theater will host an open rehearsal of the opera Juan Idalgo de Planko “Love kills” based on Pedro Calderon’s play, and on March 22 and 23 the performance itself will be presented, which George Isahakyan staged along with Andrew Lawrence-King this season.

The week of an old opera in the Sats Theater is held in cooperation with the Musica Iberica music forum organized by the Moscow State Conservatory named after P.I. Tchaikovsky
