Easter festival program has been announced

The XVI Moscow Easter Festival will be held from April 16 to May 9. This year, the festival is dedicated to the 135th anniversary of the birth of Igor Stravinsky.

The program of the Easter festival was announced on March 13 at a press conference in Moscow by his artistic director Valery Gergiev, the festival website reports.

At the opening on April 16, in the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, the Symphony Orchestra of the Mariinsky Theater under the direction of Valery Gergiev and Pianist Denis Matsuev will perform works by Stravinsky, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov and Glinka.

For three weeks of the festival, the orchestra will also perform in Kazan, Almetyevsk, Naberezhnye Chelny, Orenburg, Magnitogorsk, Yekaterinburg, Surgut, Tyumen, Novosibirsk, Kemerovo, Tomsk, Omsk, Perm, Ulyanovsk, Saransk, Nizhny Novgorod, Vladimir, Tula, Kursk, Rostov-Na-Don, Vladikavkaz, Vladikavkaz, Vladikavkaz. Stavropol and Voronezh.

On May 2 and 4, the South Korean pianist Song Cho Cho will perform on the Primorsky stage of the Mariinsky Theater in Vladivostok. The second concert will be attended by the symphony orchestra of the Primorsky scene under the control of Darrel Anga (Singapore).

The choral program of the Easter festival will open on April 17 in the hall of the church cathedrals of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior and will continue in Istra, Tver, Orekhovo-Zuevo, Balashikha, Kaluga, Klimovsk, Yegoryevsk, Sergiev Posad, Elektrostal, Mytishchi, Old Territory, Khimki, Murom, Veliky Novgorod, Serpukhov, Alexandrovo, Alexandrovo, Alexandrovo, Alexandrovo, Aleksandrov. In the binding program, concerts in Moscow, Zvenigorod, Sergiev Posad, Vistra, Petersburg, Uglich, Noginsk, Veliky Novgorod and Ramensky. In the houses of officers, orphanages and boarding schools, houses of disabled and veterans, charitable concerts of the Easter festival will take place.

The festival will complete the concert of the Symphony Orchestra of the Mariinsky Theater under the direction of Valery Gergiev on Poklonnaya Hill on May 9.
