The State Duma Committee on Budget and Taxes approved the amendments to the Tax Code, which will allow the Russians who have fallen under sanctions not to report on controlled foreign companies. It is reported by Kommersant.

The exact text of the amendments will become known only when they are made for the second reading. According to the publication, their essence boils down to the fact that those under the sanctions of individuals-named residents of other countries may abandon the Russian tax residency. To do this, you need to submit a statement to the Federal Tax Service, applying a document on a tax resident in another jurisdiction.

This does not give significant advantages when paying taxes. However, non -residents are not obliged to report in the Federal Tax Service about their offshore trusts and other foreign companies. The data obtained by the Russian departments could then be transferred abroad under the program of automatic tax exchange of tax information, which will work since 2018.

Amendments were made by the head of the Duma committee on budget and taxes, Uneneros Andrei Makarov. The Ministry of Finance stated that they were not related to a deputy initiative, but do not mind her.

In whose interests are the amendments are accepted, it is unknown. In any case, they belong to a very limited circle of people. A significant part of the sanctions lists are military, officials and employees of special services. By law, they do not have the right to own foreign companies and, moreover, to be foreign tax residents.

Personal sanctions were imposed by the European Union on March 17, 2014, the day after the "referendum" on the annexation of Crimea by Russia. Similar measures were taken in the USA. After the start of Russian aggression in eastern Ukraine , the sanctions list has repeatedly expanded . Sanctions are extended every six months . Now in the sanctions list of 150 personalities. The defendants are prohibited from entering the European Union states, and their assets in these countries are frozen.

The sanctions lists of the EU and the United States also include people from the inner circle of Vladimir Putin, in particular Gennady Timchenko and the Arkady and Boris Rotenberg brothers. The authorities of Western countries have repeatedly convicted them to attempts to bypass sanctions.
