The mother of a disabled person deprived of housing was fined ten thousand for a single picket

Judge of the Tverskoy District Court of Moscow Alesya Orekhova on March 14 ruled to fine Elena Gavrilina ten thousand rubles, who was detained on December 23, 2016 during a solo picket in front of the Moscow City Hall. Orekhova found Elena Gavrilina guilty of violating Part 5 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (violation by a participant of a public event of the established procedure for holding it)

On that day, several activists and journalists were detained during the “Christmas Tree for City Hall” action held by the dormitory residents. The police also detained Elena Gavrilina, but she did not participate in the action, but held a one-man picket nearby in support of her seriously ill disabled son, who was removed from the queue for housing in 2012.

The judge during today's meeting refused to satisfy the defense's petitions to summon the police officers who took part in the detention of Gavrilina, as well as to draw up a protocol on an administrative offense against her.
