The State Duma in the third reading adopted a bill on restricting the broadcast of court hearings in the media and the Internet. This was reported on the website of the lower house.

The Code of Criminal Procedure has amended the court to prohibit or allow the broadcast. Judges will have the opportunity to limit the broadcasts of time, as well as indicate a place in the hall where they can be led, "taking into account the opinions of the persons participating in the case." The bill also provides for a complete ban on broadcasting meetings at the stage of pre -trial production. At this stage, in particular, the investigation petitions for the election and extension of the preventive measure, as well as complaints about the actions of investigators, are considered.

For journalists, the right to keep a written and audio recording of an open court session is retained.

The current version of the Code of Criminal Procedure says: "Persons present at the open court have the right to conduct an audio recording and written recording. Photography, video recording and (or) filming is allowed with the resolution of the presiding judge."

In 2012, the Plenum of the Supreme Court ruled that judges cannot limit the right of journalists to conduct text broadcasts on the Internet from open court hearings.
