Rosgvardy: CPE is not given to us

Two controls of the Ministry of Internal Affairs - to counteract extremism and the security of persons to state protection - are not planned to the Rosguard - is not planned. This was reported by TASS with reference to the deputy director of the special services of Sergey Melikov.

By the decree of Vladimir Putin and the Law on the Russian Guard, the circle of powers of the special services is determined, the security forces explained, and it is not supposed to make changes to these documents.

The possible transfer of departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of extremism and on state protection in the structure of the Russian Guard was reported to Rosbalt the day before . It was claimed that the project proposed by the special service itself found support in the Kremlin and the translation may take place in the near future.

It was not excluded that the powers of both departments would expand significantly - in addition to counteracting extremism and state protection, these structures will also entrust the fight against terrorism and leaders of criminal communities. The Russian Guard, on the other hand, transferred the agency, will receive the right to conduct operational-search activities and have its own agents, which has not been endowed now.

The Main Directorate for Combating Extremism of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was formed by decree of President Dmitry Medvedev dated September 6, 2008 on the basis of the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime. In the regional heads of the department, instead of the departments of the Organized Crime Control Department, centers of counteracting extremism (CPE, or centers "E") were formed. These structures are persecuted by political and civilian activists, in particular, arranging provocations against them and factory criminal cases.
