A council on women's rights was held in Saudi Arabia. There weren't any women on it

On March 13, the Saudi Arabian authorities held the first meeting of the council for the protection of women's rights. There were 13 men at the meeting, and not a single woman.

According to Prince Faisal bin Mishal bin Saudi, the task of the council is to provide women with new employment opportunities. The prince also explained that "women are the sisters of men." The council is headed by Faisal's wife, Princess Abir bint Salman (she is not in the photographs).

The Saudi authorities later clarified that the women participating in the council were in an adjacent room talking to the men via video link.

• Saudi Arabia is constantly criticized for infringing on the rights of women. Residents of the country do not have the right to drive a car and move freely around the country. They received the right to vote in the elections only in 2015.
