Literary critic Alexander Gavrilov was interrogated by the Investigative Committee

Literary critic Alexander Gavrilov was interrogated on March 15 at the Investigative Committee. He reported on Facebook that the interrogation lasted five hours.

On March 10, Alexander Gavrilov's house was searched. He was linked to the case of Alexandrina Markvo, the wife of Alexei Navalny's associate Vladimir Ashurkov.

The investigation believes that Markvo's company Bureau17 embezzled money received from the Moscow authorities for holding events, including the Books in Parks festival. Markvo, who is in the UK with her husband, has been arrested in absentia.

After the searches, Gavrilov told Meduza that in 2012 he provided consulting and organizational support to the Books in the Parks project.
