In the fall of 2016, Nikitova acted as a prosecution witness in court in the case of another supporter, Olga Avilkina, who is also accused under Art. 282 of the Criminal Code for the same leaflet, which she also allegedly distributed by email. The investigation expected Nikitova to testify in favor of the prosecution's version - but, according to her, she told the truth and did not incriminate her ally. Now a similar criminal case has been opened against her.
