
A group of State Duma deputies from the LDPR introduced a draft decision on amnesty on the occasion of the anniversary of the annexation of Crimea to the lower house. The document card is placed on the website of the lower house, but the project itself is not published there. Among the initiators of the amnesty are Vadim Money, Yaroslav Nilov, Mikhail Degtyarev and Alexei Didenko.
As TASS reports with reference to an explanatory note to the decision, it is supposed to amnesty persons sentenced to up to five years for crimes of small and medium severity, as well as minors, pregnant women with young children, men and women of retirement age, disabled people of groups of groups. It is stipulated that those who are convicted “for deliberate murders, robberies, robberies, rape, terrorism, extremism, seizure of hostages, banditry and other serious crimes,” as well as malicious relapse, cannot be released from serving the sentence.
The chairman of the State Duma Committee on State Construction and Legislation, Uneneros, Pavel Krasheninnikov, noticed the agency that the Zhirinovites initiative "wary". “It is impossible to constantly carry out amnesties according to the same articles,” he explained. “It’s easier then to liberalize criminal law. And then we are dragging into prison with one hand, and we release it. This is wrong, it is unfair, expensive and has nothing to do with justice.”
The last amnesty was declared in April 2015 to the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the German-Soviet war . As TASS reports with reference to the FSIN, about 225 thousand convicts were released.
