In universities of the Sverdlovsk region, a pilot project was launched to teach at universities the course "Fundamentals of Spiritual Security". This was reported on the website of the regional administration.
The course was developed by teachers of the Missionary Institute of the Yekaterinburg diocese. The program received approval at the Ministry of General and Professional Education of the Sverdlovsk Region.
The new training course is addressed to students of Neteological faculties and designed for 6-8 lecture hours, the report said. According to the authors, the introduction of such a curriculum is caused by the need to "protect young people from destructive influence by representatives of totalitarian sects and extremist movements." Among those that affect the lecturers, “religious and political extremism”, “spiritual and moral ideal of the traditional religions of Russia”, “sects and sectarianism”.
"Our teachers have already read this course of the third-thirds of the Ural State Economic University. The lectures were perceived very positively by the leadership of the university and students. Our program was read there as part of the mandatory discipline" Fundamentals of Life Safety ". This discipline is in the educational standard for all areas of training of specialists, but in the classrooms of OBZh are primarily taught to act in a fire and technogenic Disasters, but to protect yourself from the mental influence that can destroy your life and the life of your loved ones, ”said the rector of the missionary institute Natalia Dyachkova.
On November 30, the head of the Synodal Department of Religious Education and Catechization, Deacon German Demidov, announced the need to expand the school course "Fundamentals of religious cultures and secular ethics." According to Deacon, the program cannot be fully mastered in the framework of the watches allocated to it.
"Do not forget that now in the case of Orks, we are talking only about 30 educational hours, which, in fact, do not change anything in the student’s mind, will not change his worldview, will not give him a competitive point of support in life," the deacon said. According to him, until the subject is adequately represented in the clock, "it will not be a serious attitude to it, there will be no high -quality training of textbooks and professional teachers."
