Judge of the Smolninsky District Court of St. Petersburg Tatyana Matusyak terminated administrative proceedings in a lawsuit on the illegality of the order of the city government on the transfer of the St. Isaac's Cathedral of the Russian Orthodox Church. It is reported by Fontanka.ru.

Refusing to consider on the merits, the judge referred to the legal assessment of the St. Petersburg City Court. The City Court earlier ruled that the plan for the transfer of the Cathedral of the Church does not mean the transfer itself and does not give rise to violations of citizens' rights to access museum values.

On the termination of the case, the Committee of Property Relations of the Administration of St. Petersburg insisted. Against were four plaintiffs and a representative of the director of the State Monetor Museum Nikolai Burov.

The case of Isaacia

On Wednesday, a new statement of 32 plaintiffs on the illegality of the transfer plan for the Council of the ROC was submitted to Smolny. The plaintiffs changed the argument and believe that it will be more difficult for the court to reject the lawsuit. Meanwhile, on Thursday, the Moscow Patriarchate said that the official appeal of the Council’s transfer would be submitted only after it would be determined which museum values ​​will be transferred to the use of the Russian Orthodox Church and which will remain the museum. At the same time, the Patriarchate noted that they proceed from the plan approved by the Committee of Property Relations of St. Petersburg.

On Tuesday, RBC, citing sources in the Ministry of Culture and federal officials, said that the authorities of St. Petersburg verbally demanded from the director of the Museum "Isaacievsky Cathedral" Nikolai Burov by April 16, when the Russian Orthodox celebrate Easter and transfer exhibits from the temple to a new vault . At the same time, there are no written instructions on this score, the sources noted.

On the same day, the vice-governor of St. Petersburg Vladimir Kirillov said that there are no grounds for transferring museum exhibits from the cathedral to other institutions, since the ROC has not yet received an official application for the transfer of the temple . At the same time, the vice-governor admitted that the question of moving part of museum funds in the case of transferring the cathedral to the use of the Russian Orthodox Church is being worked out. “The most preferred option for storing museum values ​​and the placement of the exposition is the State Museum of the History of St. Petersburg,” Kirillov noted. “It was in this museum until 1963 that the exposition was located, which later formed the museum exposition of the Isaac's Cathedral, which in 1983 acquired an independent museum status.”

In any case, the legal status of the State Museum-Monthine "Isaac's Cathedral" will be preserved, the vice-governor assured. The museum will remain under the jurisdiction of St. Petersburg and "continue full -fledged activities", and the issue of employees of all employees of the museum "will be positively resolved," Kirillov promised.

The transfer of Isaacia of the Russian Orthodox Church, which was already considered a resolved issue, was suspended in mid -February when information appeared in the media that this step was not coordinated with Vladimir Putin .
