In Lithuania, the murder of a girl for the theft of her Audi A7 caused a surge of xenophobia

Lithuanian police are investigating the brutal murder of a 26-year-old motorist in Eve Strazdauskaite. The girl was kidnapped with the aim of hijacking her prestigious foreign car. People of the southern appearance were involved in the crime. Eve Strazdausk, disappeared on March 5, 2017, when she left the plunge, where she visited her parents, to Vilnius. The connection with her broke off in the Kaunas area. At 18:40 the phone was already turned off.

On the night of March 13, the car of Eve Audi A7 was found in the forest near Zhemyamy in the Yonava district. Six suspects were also detained. Four of them were placed in custody for three months, and two were released under the recognizance not to leave.

The body of the murdered Eve of the Strazdauskaiti was found buried in the Kedainysky district.

All detainees in the framework of the criminal case are men aged 23-26, says Rolandas Kishkis, head of the Lithuanian Bureau of Criminal Police (LBCP). “All of them were convicted of various kinds of crimes ... mainly for theft and robberies,” he added.

According to the preliminary version, the attackers staged an accident on the motorway, and thus stopped the Audi A7 car controlled by the girl. Eve was pushed into the trunk of BMW, taken to the Kedinei district and killed with a shovel. On the body of the deceased is a lot of damage. In particular, the motorist hit the head more than ten times.

The criminals threw the car in the forest to later return after him and sell a foreign car. Note that the cost of the Audi A7 in the Russian market reaches four million rubles.

After the detention of the suspects in the abduction and murder of Eve, Perezdauskaite on social networks and in the comments on the articles about this case, threats began to appear against close detainees and those who simply related to them ethnicity.

The representative of the police department Ramunas Matonis confirmed that the number of negative statements about gypsies increased in public space. A surge of malice and hatred was caused by the fact that the suspects were not Lithuanians by nationality. They are described as dark -haired men with dark skin.

The Lithuanian police monitors the information and statements that appears in public space, analyzes comments and monitors correspondence in social networks. The police warned that the most notorious instigators to reprisals and condemnation on a national basis would be punished in the manner prescribed by law.

On March 13, the Kaunas Crime Police began an investigation on the fact of inciting the razor. The next day, law enforcement officers said they would punish everyone who leaves xenophobic posts.
