Spurt Bank expects to cope with the problems itself - Central Bank

Kazan Bank Spurt expects to independently cope with the difficult situation that has arisen in the bank, First Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank Dmitry Tulin told reporters on Friday.

“In fact, we are fully aware of what is happening at Spurt Bank. We met, I personally met with its leader, who came to Moscow. They are on their own for now. The bank's management is confident that they are coping with the situation on their own. For now, if they could get refinancing from the Central Bank or transfer their assets on the market, they prefer to transfer assets, it’s more profitable for them,” Tulin said.

Spurt began to experience liquidity problems after the licenses of Tatfondbank and Intechbank were revoked in early March. The bank lost several billion rubles due to customer panic amid erroneous rumors that the bank’s license had been revoked.

Spurt ranks 143rd in terms of assets in the Interfax-CEA ranking. Basically, the bank attracted funds from the public and placed them on loans to companies, as follows from its reporting. As of February 1, the bank raised 11.8 billion rubles. funds from the population, from companies - three times less.
