Moscow Credit Bank reduced the yield on ruble deposits by 0.25 percentage points, MTS Bank by 0.25–0.6 percentage points depending on the amount and term of the deposits, Otkritie Bank by 0.45 percentage points when placing funds for two years, and Vostochny Bank by 0.3 percentage points when the deposit term is up to one year.

Dollar 58.24

Following the US Federal Reserve's decision to raise the interest rate this week, the ruble exchange rate on the international currency market has strengthened by approximately 1%. The official dollar to ruble exchange rate has fallen by 59 kopecks to 58.24 rubles/$. Dollar savings have become cheaper by almost 1%.

Euro 62.49

But the euro to ruble exchange rate set by the Central Bank rose by 50 kopecks. On Friday, 1 euro was worth 62.49 rubles, and the value of euro assets in rubles increased by 0.8%.

Stocks and bonds

The ruble MICEX index has once again surpassed the psychologically important mark of 2,000 points. Over five trading days on the Moscow Exchange, it has grown by 2% to 2,014.37 points. The dollar RTS index has risen by 4.7% over the same period and reached 1,096.29 points.

Almost 70% of the most liquid ruble shares on the stock exchange increased in price.

The yield on ruble government bonds is 8–9.81% per annum, and on corporate bonds – 9.12–12.6%.

Between March 9 and 15, slightly less than half of open-end mutual investment funds (MIFs) pleased their clients with growth in the value of their units. The best results among large funds were demonstrated by MIFs investing in stock indices of developing countries; funds invested in them increased by approximately 3-4% over the week. Gold fund shareholders earned an average of 1.5% profit. The value of units in some funds of Russian company stocks fell by an average of 2-6.2%.

Deposits

Vozrozhdenie Bank has updated its line of deposits, as a result of which the yield on ruble deposits in it has decreased by 0.2–0.3 percentage points.

According to the Central Bank’s calculations, the average maximum rate on ruble deposits in the top ten banks with the largest volume of funds attracted from individuals fell by 0.02% to 8.05% in the first ten days of March.
