In St. Petersburg, a city -protective rally was held on the Marse Field, reports Zaks.ru. According to the organizers, from six to ten thousand people took part in the action. The police estimated the number of gathered at 3.5 thousand people.

Boris Vishnevsky, Maxim Reznik and Oksana Dmitrieva, the Coordinator of Open Russia Andrei Pivovarov, historian Lev Lurie, director Yuri Mamin, artist Ivan Krasko, performed at the rally.

Participants in the rally opposed the transfer of the St. Isaac's Cathedral of the Russian Orthodox Church, buildings in the area of ​​the Pulkovo Observatory and the association of the Russian National and State Russian Libraries. In addition, the audience spoke out in defense of the European University, the Russian State Hydrometeorological University and other universities of the city. The problems of preserving monuments and parks were also discussed.

The action was agreed with the authorities with the number of participants of 250 people.

On January 28, shares of supporters and opponents of the ROC of the Council were held on the Marse Field. The city authorities refused to coordinate the campaign of the defenders of the Isaacievsky Cathedral museum on the grounds that the national liberation movement has already applied to the action in this place against the policy of the Central Bank and its credit rate. Another event with the declared number of 50 people intended to hold Orthodox activist Ivan Pankov.

As a result, the action of opponents of the transfer of the Council of the Russian Orthodox Church was held in the form of a meeting with deputies of the Legislative Assembly. The action took place without the use of sound amusing equipment and party symbols. Some participants held white balloons in their hands with the inscription "NOT ROC". About two thousand people came to the action. The police observed what was happening, but the action did not interfere.
