State Duma deputy Vladimir Gutenev said on Ekho Moskvy that Russia has begun deliveries of S-400 missile systems to China, Interfax reports.
“India is now actively eyeing the S-400. We have now delivered the first divisions to China, ”the agency quotes the deputy’s statement.
When exactly the deliveries began and how many launchers China received, Gutenev did not specify.
In February, Rostec's director for international cooperation, Viktor Kladov , announced that Russia had begun production of the S-400 for China. The head of Rostec, Sergei Chemezov, last June argued that deliveries to China would begin no earlier than 2018, since weapons are first supplied to "their own army."
Later, Gutenev told the RNS news agency that he meant the start of production of S-400 systems for China, and not their delivery.
