American billionaire David Rockefeller, the oldest member of the Rockefeller family, has died in New York State. He was 101 years old.

David Rockefeller is the grandson of the first dollar billionaire, John Rockefeller, the founder of Standard Oil. He was educated in economics, worked in the civil service and served in the army during World War II. In 1946, he began work at Chase National (Chase Manhattan, later JPMorgan Chase), which later became one of the largest in the world. In 1960, Rockefeller became its president, and a few years later, chairman of the board and CEO.
