Truly traditional values

In Kamchatka, the director of the legal and psychological center “Personality”, LGBT activist Dmitry Samoilenko is pursued for the publication of the book “Traditional Forms of Sexual behavior among the indigenous peoples of the North. I plan to send a statement to the prosecutor’s office to find out my procedural status, and on what basis my things have been held for more than a month: a laptop, two phrases, flash cards. I have not yet been charged.

I published a brochure that since ancient north the peoples of the Far North had people with various sexual orientation, gender identity. I refer to the work of researchers Stepan Krasheninnikov, Ferdinand Wrangel, George Steller, who opened Kamchatka, investigated the daily life of the peoples of the North. In the brochure, I write about the Chukchi, Itelmen and Koryaks. But for the regional authorities, apparently, this topic is taboo.

In our homophobic state, in principle, it is not supposed to be raised, and here we are talking about the fact that these were the traditional forms of sexual behavior. Judging by the testimony, this was not shy in 1843, 1870. Accordingly, these are no "imposed European values." My brochure has already dispersed throughout the country, I do not pretend that I am some kind of researcher, but this brochure is a breakthrough for the Russian LGBT community.

In February, I was called the operative center for counteracting extremism of the Kamchatka Territory:

- Hello! I need to talk to you.

- I guess what we will talk about.

- If so, then it’s good. Are you really the only one who is engaged in the protection of LGBT rights in Kamchatka?

- Imagine, I'm alone.

I came to the operative the next day, on February 12 in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Nikolai Alekseev, a gay parade was planned. I was interviewed on this score, I said that I have nothing to do with the gay parade. This should all end, but the operative said:

-Some odious ladies wrote a statement to you that in your apartment there are agitation and slogans for the gay parade.

I laughed at it. He asked to drive to inspect my apartment. I am not strong in criminal law, this situation is for the first time with me. Yes, and I am an open person, I have nothing to hide. I agreed. They examined the apartment, of course, they did not find any slogans, but they took the laptop, two phrases and flash drives. They promised me that they would check and return within two to three hours.

I, a naive person, went to them. They pressed me psychologically there: that my brochure is recognized as extremist that I should go to cooperation with the investigation. At the moment, as explained to the Kh Kam24 information agency, a pre -investigation check has passed and the data was sent to the Investigative Committee for the adoption of a procedural decision.

They allegedly took me a “no to leave”, I signed such a paper. Then I looked and realized that it was unofficial, this form of pressure is not yet. Phones, laptop and flash drives promise to give everything, but so far they have not given it. In parallel, they interview my friends, those who worked with me are looking for some data for me.
