According to a source in the company, the departure of Jones is also associated with accusations of sexism and sexual harassment against company employees. Jones admitted that he could not cope with the situation. He worked in Uber for about six months.

The attitude of customers to Uber began to deteriorate after the service raised tariffs during protests against the migration decree Donald Trump. Users opposing Trump’s policy were also unhappy that the general director of Travis Kalanik was a president’s advisory council.

The situation aggravated the situation by one of the company's employees about sexual harassment by its boss. Users in social networks called for Uber in favor of his competitor Lyft, a hashtag #deleteuber appeared (“Delete Uber”).

At the end of February, Uber and its OTTO division were accused of theft of Alphabet autopilot development. According to investigators, the Waymo employee stole the company's technologies and transferred them to OTTO. Waymo asked the court to ban Uber to use stolen technologies, as well as return the stolen secret materials.
