The Daily Mirror mixed up fist fights for Shrovetide with the preparation of football fans for the World Cup

The British tabloid The Daily Mirror issued fist fights for Pancake week for the preparation of Russian football fans for the 2018 World Cup.

The publication illustrated the video from the fist battle competition, which was held in the Izmailovsky Park on Shrovetide. The Daily Mirror calls men in the folk costumes "Ultras" who "demonstrate how cruel they can be."

The material is also illustrated by photography with pensioners who are engaged in illegal trade near Izmailovsky Park. The image claims that "people live in fear."

The investigation is based on the words of representatives of the fan associations “Steel Monsters” and “Landskron”, who are for “Ural” and “Zenit”, respectively. The interlocutors of The Daily Mirror boasted of successes in fights with British fans during the past euro, and also promised to arrange a “battle” at the upcoming championship.
