The Moscow District Military Court sentenced to 19 years in prison in a maximum regime colony Hassan Zakayev, accused of aiding terrorists during the seizure of hostages during the musical Nord-Ost. It is reported by Interfax .

“To recognize Zakaeva guilty of attempting to prepare a terrorist attack, attempted murder of two or more persons, attempted capture and maintaining hostages, acquisition and transportation of explosives,” the judge Mikhail Udashkin announced the verdict.

He added that the civil lawsuits of the victims to Zakaev were partially satisfied. The court collected 500 thousand rubles from the accused in favor of a number of victims, in favor of a few more - 1.5 million, 2 million and 2.5 million rubles. As it became known later, in general, the court recovered 37.5 million rubles in favor of the victims.

Earlier, the prosecutor asked to send Zakayev to a maximum security colony for 23 years. The state prosecution also asked to satisfy the civil lawsuits of the victims in the case in full - for a total of about 100 million rubles.

In turn, the lawyer of the accused Suleiman Ibrahimov petitioned for lifting the accusations of preparing a terrorist attack, of aiding in capturing and holding hostages, attempting two or more persons. As Interfax reported, the defender said that under these articles the prosecution did not provide enough evidence of Progaev’s guilt.

Zakaev himself in November 2016 partially pleaded guilty of accusations of storing money and the acquisition and transportation of weapons. At the same time, he said that he was not a participant in the terrorist group that captured the hostages, and did not know anything about the impending terrorist attack.

On March 21, the prosecutor’s office said that Zakaev participated in the preparation of other terrorist attacks, including in Moscow, TASS reports . In particular, in 2001, he helped prepare an explosion at the Mc'Donalds restaurant on Bolshaya Bronnaya. Then the explosion did not happen, since the explosives appeared in the car.

Zakaev was detained in December 2014 while trying to enter Crimea according to fake documents; Before that, he was on the international wanted list for more than ten years. The trial of Zakayev began in November 2016.

The capture of hostages during the play “Nord-Ost” in the theater center on Dubrovka occurred in October 2002. As a result of the attack, 130 people died, including 10 children. During the special operation to release hostages, 40 terrorists were killed. Later, six more militants were sentenced to a long term of imprisonment, another accomplice of the terrorist attack-Gerikhan Dudaev-still remains wanted.
