Usolsky City Court examined the complaint of a resident of the Irkutsk region Marina Ruzaeva, who suffered from torture in the local police department. Ruzaeva’s defense appealed to the investigation refusal to familiarize her with the decision on the appointment of an additional investigation and issue a copy of the decision in her case. Judge Svetlana Glotova today refused to satisfy the complaint of the victim, citing the fact that, in her opinion, the Code of Criminal Procedure does not provide for the victim’s right to receive a copy of the decision to send a criminal case for an additional investigation.
Today's court decision will be appealed as illegal. The law provides for the familiarization of the parties with all the documents that affect their interests in the process, the court violated this provision, respectively, the rights of the victim were violated. The interests of Marina Ruzaeva, with the support of the “Public Verdict”, are represented by lawyer Svyatoslav Khmenkov.
