"As for the boycott, I repeat once again: probably, this is not quite a question of the Kremlin. There is our candidate, he is chosen, and we expect that the Russian performer will be able to introduce our country at this international competition," Peskov said. The fact that Samoilov will represent Russia at Eurovision became known on March 12. The next day, the SBU announced that she was checking the reliability of information about the singer’s visits to the annexed Crimea. It was reported that the audit will take place within a month and, according to its results, a decision will be made on the admission of the contestant to the country or a ban on entry.
