The minimum vodka price will be raised to 219 rubles

Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Khloponin instructed the Ministry of Finance to set a minimum price of 0.5 liters of vodka in the amount of 219 rubles. About this "Interfax" was told by his press secretary Natalya Platonova.

According to her, such a price was agreed with the federal executive bodies and market participants. The Ministry of Finance must prepare the corresponding order before April 1, Platonova added.

Now the cost of a bottle of vodka of 0.5 liters is 190 rubles.

Later, the Ministry of Finance stated that they consider the price proposed by Khloponin. Given the excise tax rate and inflation, it is optimal to increase the minimum price to 205 rubles, the department noted.

The Ministry of Finance has already made such a proposal in February. The department also offered to increase the retail price for cognac. The need to increase alcohol prices was explained by an increase in electricity tariffs and an increase in excise tax since the beginning of the year.

Earlier in January, the Ministry of Finance proposed to increase the minimum price of a bottle of vodka to 219 rubles. A few days later the department said that it has not yet been made a final decision.
