50 thousand sable skins are presented at the first fur auction in Irkutsk

The first Baikal international fur auction began work in Irkutsk. According to the regional administration, a collection of 50 thousand sobol sables is exposed to the auction. The region is one of the leaders in Russia for the extraction of furs.

The auction takes place on the basis of the Baikal Business Center from March 21 to 26. According to the general director of the Russian Sobol auction company Yuri Vyukevich, an alternative trading platform for the sale of sable industry products is registered in Irkutsk by a auction company, the founders of which are hunters and procurers of fur-fur raw materials. The choice fell on Irkutsk due to its convenient geographical position, the proximity of manufacturers and the available transport and logistics unit.

On March 22, the auction was visited by the governor of the Irkutsk region Sergey Levchenko and the presidential envoy to Siberia Sergey Avayolo.

“For residents of remote and hard -to -reach areas of the Irkutsk region, a fishing hunt that has a large extent that has a commodity, serves as a constant or temporary profession and a source of existence. Objects of hunting in the region are 35 species of animals. In the extraction of fur, the Irkutsk region takes fourth place in Russia after the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and the Khabarovsk Territory, ”said the governor.

During the visit to the site, Sergey Chanipolo and Sergey Levchenko got acquainted with the fiddle -off and visited the trading hall. The auction presents goods from the Irkutsk region, Yakutia, Kamchatka and Krasnoyarsk regions, the Amur Region and other regions of Siberia and the Far East.

The collection is formed from many single parties from hunters by manual selection of the same in many parameters of skins in lots of 35–40 pieces. Buyers from the USA, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, China and Russia will take part in the auction.

We add that the Baikal region has long been famous for its sable. The most valuable - Barguzinsky sable - lives here. In the same region, the first reserve was created in Russia - just to preserve this animal, which was practically exterminated by the beginning of the 20th century. At that time, only a few dozen animals remained in the once -rich sable of the area. After a quarter of a century, the population was restored.
